- Provide oversight and governance of project accounting across the group, with focus on significant projects and balances.
- Manage and oversee project accounting processes in line with IFRS and internal policies.
- Ensure correct application of revenue recognition principles, including contract analysis and performance obligation assessment.
- Translate business and commercial project arrangements into appropriate accounting treatments.
- Act as a key counterpart for project financial controllers on accounting and reporting matters.
- Review and project journal entries (revenue and cost accruals/deferrals, adjustments). Review and validate project financial data and revenue recognition calculations.
- Support preparation and review of project-related financial reports and disclosures.
- Monitor project accounting risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to project accounting.
- Monitor accounting interfaces related to projects and revenue recognition.
- Analyze interface errors, investigate root causes, and coordinate resolution with the IT team.
- Develop and maintain documentation for project accounting processes, controls, and approval frameworks.
- Experience in project accounting, project / business controlling, or project financial management.
- Practical experience with IFRS revenue recognition (IFRS 15) in a project-based environment.
- Experience in a central, regional, or group finance function is an advantage.
- Exposure to ERP systems and project accounting modules.
- Involvement in audit support, accounting reviews, or complex contract analysis is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Specialized training in IFRS or revenue recognition is a plus.
- Experience in project-based industries is preferred.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting, with emphasis on revenue recognition and contract accounting.
- Ability to analyze project contracts and commercial terms.
- Knowledge of ERP and financial systems supporting project accounting.
- Experience with reconciliations, data validation, and error analysis.
- Project management and coordination skills for cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
