The company Deutsche Telekom Technik GmbH is a 100 percent subsidiary of Telekom Deutschland GmbH and provides the nationwide technical infrastructure of the group. Around 19,000 employees at DT Technik plan, design, build and operate the facilities and systems of the technical infrastructure nationwide on behalf of Telekom Deutschland GmbH. The company implements network projects, operates the network technology and, if necessary, takes over the maintenance of the technical infrastructure.The Tribe Voice & Messaging is responsible for the design, development, planning, validation and operation of all voice and messaging platforms in DT Technik's fixed and mobile network over their entire lifecycle. We provide innovative, reliable state-of-the-art services to our customers.The Squad SMS, as part of Tribe Voice & Messaging, is responsible for the complete lifecycle of DT Technik SMS platforms. The Squad uses agile tools and methods, and is responsible for the design, engineering, development, deployment, and operation of SMS systems in close cooperation with the system vendor. One of the current challenges for the team is to build up a new IPSMGW and later SMSC platform based on CaaS Kubernetes platform. To accompany us on this challenging journey, we are looking for a committed and motivated colleague to join our team.Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Design - understanding and further development of messaging use cases based on telco network evolution
  • Configuration - preparation of the configuration to fulfill designed use cases and scenarios
  • Validation - support for validation members with expert advises regarding designed scenarios
  • DevOps (later): hands on mindset with ability to apply technical knowledge to lifecycle and operations
Professional, Social and Specific Skills
  • Strong knowledge of mobile communication messaging part, understands IPSMGW call flows
  • Knowledge about LTE scenarios like direct MME submission and IMS core signalling (registration and messaging part)
  • Understand SMS signalling flows in 2G network (overview about SMSC, UCP or SMPP)
  • Solid experience with developing and documenting requirements for a system, definition of the new messaging scenarios
  • Strategic and analytical thinking with a solution-oriented approach
  • Overview in cloud technologies, especially Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
  • You are accustomed to work in geographically distributed team using online tooling such as JIRA, confluence Wiki, Sharepoint, MS Teams and alike.
