Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you.About the Role:The information Security and Compliance team is looking for a Sr. Specialist, Information Security Compliance (Business Information Security Expert) to join the team and drive the implementation and continuous improvement of information security compliance initiatives across the organization. This role ensures alignment with global regulatory frameworks and internal policies, while proactively managing risk and audit readiness.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and monitor security compliance initiatives aligned with HIPAA, SOX, NIST, CSA, and other frameworks.Ensure adherence to internal Information Security Compliance policies and procedures.Maintain up-to-date documentation and evidence for audits and regulatory inspections.Oversee the full lifecycle of risk assessments—from identification to mitigation tracking.Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to findings.Create and maintain risk registers and dashboards for leadership visibility.Advise on security controls for firewalls, network segmentation, Windows systems, SCCM, Active Directory, and vulnerability management.Collaborate with IT infrastructure and endpoint teams to ensure secure setups and patch compliance.Define KPIs, lead gap/vulnerability forums, and recommend enhancement of compliance monitoring tools and processes.Act as a trusted advisor, lead training sessions, and represent the function in governance and risk forums.Essential Requirements:8+ years of experience in Information Security, Compliance, Risk Management, or related domains, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and audit programs in complex enterprise environments.Proven experience in Information Security Compliance, Risk Management, and Audit Readiness.Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks: HIPAA, SOX, NIST, CSA.Strong technical knowledge of firewalls, networks, SCCM, Windows systems, and Active Directory.Hands-on experience with vulnerability management processes.Excellent communication (English, nbtoh written and spoken) and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.High integrity and commitment to compliance excellence.Desirable skills:Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., pharma, healthcare, finance).Familiarity with ISRM tools and GRC platforms.Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or CRISC.Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:We are committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.You’ll receive (Czech Republic only):Monthly pension contribution matching your individual contribution up to 3% of your gross monthly base salary; Risk Life Insurance (full cost covered by Novartis); 5-week holiday per year; (1 week above the Labour Law requirement) ; 4 paid sick days within one calendar year in case of absence due to sickness without a medical sickness report; Cafeteria employee benefit program – choice of benefits from Benefit Plus Cafeteria in the amount of 12,500 CZK per year; Meal vouchers in amount of 90 CZK for each working day (full tax covered by company); transportation allowance; MultiSport Card.
