Job DescriptionAs a SAP BW / Analytics Lead you will:Lead and manage a global SAP BI / Analytics team consisting of BW/HANA specialists and senior subject matter expertsAct as the primary technical and delivery lead for SAP BW on HANA and Analytics initiatives across regionsOwn end‑to‑end delivery of SAP BI solutions – from demand intake and requirements shaping through design, build, testing, and go‑liveFacilitate and guide requirements‑gathering workshops with business stakeholders and senior functional partnersReview, validate, and approve Functional Specifications and technical designs, ensuring optimal balance between standard and custom solutionsDefine and govern SAP BW/HANA architecture, data modelling standards, and development best practicesCoordinate internal team activities and manage dependencies with external vendors and system integratorsOversee testing strategy and execution (SIT/UAT), ensuring quality, traceability, and regulatory complianceEnsure effective hypercare, post‑go‑live support, and structured knowledge transfer to support teamsDrive adherence to company SDLC, lifecycle management, and quality standards across the teamProvide technical leadership for ECC to S/4HANA remediation and transformation initiatives impacting AnalyticsMentor, coach, and develop team members, supporting skill growth, career progression, and succession planningWhat we need:10+ years experience in SAP BW and HANA–based analytics solutions5–7+ years experience in a technical leadership or lead roleProven experience leading SAP BW on HANA or Native HANA implementationsStrong functional and business process understanding across multiple SAP domains, with a focus on AnalyticsDeep expertise in BW objects, HANA modelling, and architectural governancePractical understanding of S/4HANA migration impacts on BWExperience working in regulated industries (pharma preferred)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated ability to lead distributed, multicultural teamsNice to have:SAP Datasphere / Business Data Cloud (BDC) exposureSAP ABAP knowledge (design and review level)Experience with SAP BOBJ (Web Intelligence) or SAP Analytics CloudExperience working with global system integratorsRequired Skills: SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANAPreferred Skills:Current Employees applyCurrent Contingent Workers applySearch Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
