You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our backend services through a combination of automated and manual testing, with a strong focus on test automation in JVM languages (Scala, Java, Kotlin). You will work closely with developers, DevOps, and product managers to drive quality across the CI/CD pipeline and help evolve our testing strategy.Mission and Goals:AI-Driven Development: At GenDigital, we actively use AI across the entire software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis, code generation, and automated testing, to monitoring, analytics, and incident response. Our teams leverage AI-powered tools for code reviews, test automation, defect prediction, and continuous improvement, ensuring higher quality, faster delivery, and smarter decision-making at every stage.Objectives:Test Automation:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, API, and E2E) for backend services, primarily in Scala, Java, or Kotlin.
- Periodically review and improve test coverage, focusing on critical business logic and high-risk areas.
- Contribute to the evolution of the IPM QA strategy, following the testing pyramid (unit/component, integration, E2E, and minimal manual testing).
- Monitor and analyze code coverage metrics (lines, branches, classes, methods) and test execution results in CI/CD (TeamCity).
- Collaborate with developers to ensure tests are part of the definition of done and code reviews.
- Participate in the release process, ensuring automated tests are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Support deployment validation in multiple environments (DEV, TEST, STAGE, PROD).
- Investigate and address flaky tests, environment issues, and test failures.
- Perform targeted manual and exploratory testing for new features, complex integrations, and production issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional QA teams (e.g., OPS QA) for end-to-end and client-based testing scenarios.
- Document test plans, strategies, and results in Confluence and Jira.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices.
