If so, we have the perfect role for you.As Mainframe Application Modernization Architect with French, you'll be responsible for designing cutting-edge software frameworks, systems, and products that will set the standard for the industry. You'll use your extensive technical knowledge to conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes, while also identifying and resolving any framework design weaknesses.You’ll use your technical expertise to provide technical leadership to the application development team, perform design and code reviews, and ensure that uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained. You'll also collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure that the architecture is aligned with business requirements, making sure that the project meets its goals.Your expertise in designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware, and infrastructure, will be put to use as you create and maintain documentation surrounding the software architecture, application design processes, component integration, testing guidelines, and other key elements.Responsibilities:Lead the design and implementation of modernization strategies for mainframe applications.Develop architectural solutions that integrate mainframe applications with cloud environments, leveraging AWS Mainframe Modernization service and other cloud-native services.Conduct technical assessments and provide recommendations for modernization approaches, including replatforming, refactoring, and rearchitecting.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of modernization projects.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members and customers.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in mainframe modernization and cloud technologies.Your Future at KyndrylAs Mainframe Application Modernization Architect with French at Kyndryl, you will join the Kyndryl Consultant Profession, working with other Kyndryl Consultants, Architects, Project Managers, and cross-functional Technical Subject Matter Experts – presenting unlimited opportunities with unmatched support through our investment in your learning, training, and career growth.Who You AreYou’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. Fluency in French
10+ years of experience in mainframe application development and modernization.
Proven experience in designing and implementing modernization strategies for mainframe applications.
Prior hands-on experience working in a Mainframe environment.
Expertise in mainframe technologies, architectures, and programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, and Java.
Strong understanding of z/OS and IBM Software Products as well as 3rd party Mainframe software.
Experience with AWS Mainframe Modernization service, Azure Skytap, Arcad Software suite, and/or other cloud-native services.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and leadership skills with previous experience in a client-facing role and translating business needs into technical solutions.

Preferred Skills and Experience

AWS certification or equivalent cloud certification.
Experience with modernization technologies from Micro Focus™, Astadia, Bluage, Cast, or RainCode.
Knowledge of mainframe security practices and associated tools.
