- Lead local improvement projects and effectively coordinate these projects with the Regional EOS Director Improvement project teams.
- Project leadership includes identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, launching project teams, using good project management to perform team activities, leading teams to execute projects with the problem solving methodology, tracking project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers, and developing team members.
- It is also critical to identify integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals.
- Deploy locally the EnerSys Operational System (EOS).
- Also train and coach local managers and plant teams to the system.
- Ensure 2-way open communication throughout the organization based on results. Scope projects in support of the system and productivity.
- Lead kaizen events to delivers target improvement
- Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met.
- Provide regional EOS director and Plant managers with the results and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and business strategy.
- Keep the regional EOS director and Plant manager informed of program status and ensure coordination of activities between other Plants. Also, this includes capturing project lessons learned that can be re-used for other projects.
- Proven Lean Background. Experience-based on sustained continuous improvement results.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills in use of MS Office, with ability to create spreadsheets for analysis and tracking data-based metrics.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and manage complex cross-functional business process projects.
- Ability to lead and direct an improvement team.
- Results-oriented “change agent" who is an effective business systems thinker.
- Effectively communicate with all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing the Business goals.
- Be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
- Understand statistical analysis tools/methodology, project management, SAP, quality and basic financial principles and apply them to analyze the planned activities.
- Lean, Six Sigma or project management qualifications are desirable.
- Preferred experience in battery manufacturing and Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing.
