Basically we are the ‘Delta Force’ for tough problems involving data and systems. Some of our past missions included:
- Creating tools for data quality measurement, data analytics, visualizations, comparisons and for making predictions.
- Evaluating new libraries and products. E.g. OpenAI LLM models or alternatives to Pandas DataFrames.
- Designing and building a high performance compressed data format/engine that could encapsulate an entire DB schema in a single file, achieving 50:1 compression while still allowing fast, serverless query processing.
- Designing an enterprise data archiving and lifecycle management system hosted in AWS.
- Development of execution engines for large graphs of data processing jobs.
- Developing algorithms for improved fuzzy matching of strings and documents.
- Developing a method for compressing similar business documents by factoring out common parts into a model, rearranging and other techniques in order to achieve 10-100x compression.
- Strong technical/analytical background in Computer Science or related subject.
- Solid software development skills using multiple programming languages. E.g. Python, C#..NET, C++, Scala or JavaScript.
- Passionate about technology and learning with an open, but analytical approach to problem solving.
- Happy to work on a diverse range of problems and technologies.
- A proven problem solver who thrives on challenges.
- Good spoken and written English
- Knowledge of or a strong interest in AI and machine learning techniques.
- Experience of working on Open Source projects.
- Web application development skills. E.g. RestFul web services, GraphQL, ReactJS or similar.
- Knowledge of data formats, protocols, storage systems and query languages.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and/or AWS Cloud.
- Experience of agile development, Git, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
