- Responsible for oncology diagnostics across AZ oncology portfolio
- Scientific partnership and education - Demonstrate clinical utility and drive awareness of biomarker testing enabling early cancer detection with complex assays
- Collaboration on pre-launch strategy within cross-functional teams based on global diagnostic functional plan
- Leverage current diagnostic market and clinical test market experience that will make an impact within a large, global pharmaceutical company. Ensure the timely, high quality in-market companion diagnostics / testing solutions across all oncology therapeutic areas to enable optimal treatment throughout the patient journey. An important element of this role is therefore to work collaboratively with the cross functional teams and execute on tactical plans with an understanding of clinical operational issues on the testing pathway developing tailored testing solutions as needed
- Provide medical and ethical support for assigned product /therapeutic area
- Maximize value propositions for benefit of patients through medical and scientific projects, services and expertise in the field
- Develop medical programs/tactics as part of medical plan and to coordinate and implement it in local territories in cooperation with cross-functional team
- Safeguard compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines within the TA
- Increase the value of the brand for all stakeholders with organizing a participating in non-interventional studies, real-life outcome studies, and comparative effectiveness research
- Identify and develop relationships with scientific experts: Pathologists and Molecular Pathologists, Oncologists, and Laboratory decision makers
- Active cooperation within cross-functional teams (Medical, Market Access, Franchise teams) – pre-launch/launch and post-launch strategy building for biomarker testing based on global diagnostic functional plans,
- Share appropriate, approved, educational information on diagnostics to external stakeholders
- Prepare and conduct advisory boards for new diagnostics with multidisciplinary attendance to get insight related to current and future testing patterns in specific cancer type/s.
- Educate on the need for diagnostic quality assurance (QA) programmes
- Identify barriers to testing through partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab networks, and Health Care Professionals (HCPs). Develop strategies to support and educate on appropriate testing
- Identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external customers (e.g. current and future KOLs, brand advocates and cooperative groups)
- Develop and implement KOLs plans together with relevant cross-functional teams
- Implement and disseminate high quality medical and scientific education in the field – to give clinical and scientific presentations at sites and to key external audience including local decision makers and budget holders – in co-operation with local marketing, sales, and hospital management functions.
- Provide accurate medical/therapeutic area/product advice and information to internal and external customers for specified products/therapeutic areas (TA)
- Prepare medical programs//local territory medical tactics as part of strategic/operational/cycle marketing and medical plans and ensure implementation of it in the field
- Provide medical support of pre-launch activities of new TA development/licensed in specified TA in cooperation with HTA/market access/RA and marketing department
- Undergraduate degree; preferably an Advanced degree in life sciences, medical or pharmacy degree Postgraduate degree in those areas or in business administration is an advantage
- Minimum 2 years of medical affairs experience
- Experience in diagnostic market and/or clinical testing; Oncology experience is an advantage
- Expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
- Project management experience
- Ability to travel (percentage varies with geography)
- Clinical experience (even in non physician positions, i.e. dept. of biochemistry) is an advantage
- Commercial awareness
