Position: Senior Node.js Developer
Remote working policy: Hybrid (1 day/week in Prague), full-time
Employment type: Freelancer/ Contract
Duration: 12 months+
Budget rate: 7000 CZK/dayThis is a remote position that requires 1 day/week on-site in Prague.About the OpportunityAre you a backend engineer who values quality over quick fixes?We’re looking for a skilled Node.js Developer to join a collaborative engineering team on a contract basis. You’ll play a key role in shaping the backend architecture of a large-scale, high-traffic platform used by a broad user base.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys writing clean, maintainable code, solving real-world scalability challenges, and working with other experienced engineers in a supportive environment.Tech StackCore: Node.js, Express.js / Koa,
Data: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Sequelize / Prisma / Mongoose
Testing: Jest / Mocha / Supertest
DevOps: Docker, CI/CD, AWS / Azure / GCP,
Nice to Have: GraphQL, React knowledgeWhat You’ll Do
  • Design and build scalable REST/GraphQL APIs
  • Improve and modernize existing systems
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and security
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams
  • Contribute to code reviews and engineering standards
Ideal Profile
  • Design and build scalable REST/GraphQL APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js in production environments
  • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs or backend services
  • Good understanding of asynchronous programming and common Node.js patterns
  • Practical experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Comfortable owning features from implementation through deployment , with guidance when needed
  • Exposure to debugging, monitoring, and supporting live systems
  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines , and cloud platforms is a plus
  • English communication skills
