Giacom is the only provider of Comms, Cloud, Hardware and Billing through one platform.Our platform connects technology resellers and service providers to the best IT, Comms and Cloud products and services so they can create brilliant technology solutions for UK businesses.We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts across complex, high-impact projects. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing both manual and automated test plans to ensure software quality at every stage of the development lifecycle.You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and usability. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior QA engineers and drive continuous improvement in testing practices.What you'll be doing

Mentorship: Mentor and provide guidance to QA engineers and developers in testing best practices, automation techniques, and quality standards.
Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with development, product management, and operations teams to integrate testing into the software development lifecycle from the start.
Quality metrics and reporting: Define, track, and report on key quality metrics, such as defect rates, test coverage, and performance benchmarks.
Risk assessment and mitigation: Identify risks in software releases and develop strategies to mitigate them proactively.
Test environment management: Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure test environments are reliable, available, and accurately mirror production environments.
Problem-solving and debugging: Lead efforts to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex quality issues, working closely with developers to ensure smooth resolution.
Stakeholder communication: Communicate quality risks, progress, and test results to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on quality objectives.
Compliance and security testing: Ensure that testing procedures meet industry compliance standards and that security vulnerabilities are thoroughly tested and mitigated.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:Essential skills:

Experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on manual testing.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills.
Experience with RESTful API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
Expertise in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and documentation.
The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects within project timeframes.
Experience of testing back-end systems, APIs and querying relational databases.
Experience of working using agile development methodologies.
Experience mentoring and supporting the development of junior QA engineers

Desirable skills:

Familiarity with automated testing with tools like Playwright, Cypress or similar
Familiarity with performance testing with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar is a plus.
Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, or similar.
