This role partners closely with Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Operations to align sourcing strategies with CAD product roadmaps and operational priorities.Category knowledge in Particle Optics, mechanical components, Electronics, and Contract Manufacturing (CM) is preferred. The ideal candidate brings strong sourcing fundamentals, technical curiosity, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions in a regulated manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead NPI sourcing activities in support of Chemical Analysis Division programs and product development timelinesPartner with Engineering to influence design-for-manufacturability, design-for-cost, and design-for-supply decisions throughout the development lifecycleSupport supplier identification, capability assessment, and selection aligned with performance, quality, scalability, and risk objectivesApply cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and negotiation strategies to support NPI cost targets and total cost of ownership goalsCoordinate supplier readiness activities, including tooling, qualification, PPAP/FAI, and production ramp planningCollaborate with Quality and Regulatory partners to ensure suppliers meet Thermo Fisher quality system, validation, and documentation requirementsSupport make-versus-buy decisions, dual sourcing strategies, and supply risk mitigation planningServe as the sourcing representative on NPI core teams, providing clear and timely communication on progress, risks, and opportunitiesSupport the transition of suppliers from NPI into production sourcing while maintaining continuity and performanceContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen sourcing processes, supplier capability, and cross-functional executionMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related disciplineMinimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, or NPI-related rolesDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, matrixed organizationStrong analytical, negotiation, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic environmentPreferred QualificationsCategory knowledge or sourcing experience in Particle Optics, mechanical components, Electronics, or Contract ManufacturingExperience supporting new product introductions in analytical instruments, life sciences, diagnostics, or other regulated manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with supplier qualification, validation, and quality system requirementsExperience working with global suppliers and cross-regional teamsAPICS, CPSM, or similar professional certificationKey CompetenciesStrategic sourcing and operational focusTechnical aptitude and learning mindsetData-informed decision makingClear, proactive communicationContinuous improvement orientationWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefitsCareer development opportunities within the Chemical Analysis Division and across Thermo Fisher ScientificA collaborative, inclusive culture grounded in integrity, intensity, involvement, and innovationThe opportunity to support products that help customers make the world healthier, cleaner, and saferEqual Opportunity EmployerThermo Fisher Scientific is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
