Do you want to help build a platform from early stages and influence its roadmap?If yes, keep reading — you might be exactly who we’re looking for.Our Platform Extensions team is developing a next-generation Customer Data Platform (CDP) that will power data ingestion, transformation, profiling, and automation across all Alma Career markets. It’s a strategic investment, a high-impact project, and something we want to build right.And now we’re looking for a Senior CDP Application Developer to help us take it to the next level.What will be your job?Your main responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain core CDP components — scalable backend services that process large volumes of events and provide the data foundation for marketing, CRM, product, and analytics teams.Concretely, you will:

develop and maintain backend services for event ingestion, transformations, and customer profiling
integrate CDP components with internal systems via events and APIs
work with AWS cloud-native services (Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch)
participate in architecture discussions with the Lead Engineer
ensure code quality, observability, and reliable CI/CD
troubleshoot issues and improve platform resilience
help shape the direction of our CDP from both engineering and product perspectives

A note on legacy (transparently and realistically):While most of your work will focus on new CDP components, you will also encounter a few existing systems and legacy integrations. Part of your role will be to help stabilize them and gradually retire them as we transition to a cleaner, event‑driven architecture. We are committed to reducing technical debt — not growing it. Nothing overwhelming — but we believe in transparency.How we work (Shape Up)We use the Shape Up delivery process: clear scopes, realistic cycles, and real autonomy for engineers. You’ll get uninterrupted time for deep work and own your solution from shaping to delivery. No artificial sprint pressure, no task‑by‑task micromanagement. Prior Shape Up experience isn’t required; ownership and curiosity matter more.How do we imagine you?

You have strong hands-on experience with Python (preferred) — but PHP or Node.js experience is also great
You understand event-driven architecture
You can design APIs and write clean, maintainable backend code
CI/CD, Git, code reviews and testing are a natural part of your workflow
You’re willing to dive deep into new topics, even if you haven’t seen them before
You enjoy working with others — you value collaboration, support teammates, and appreciate open feedback
You communicate clearly and proactively
You like responsibility and prefer ownership over micromanagement

What will earn you extra points?

Experience with Customer Data Platforms or marketing technology
Experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, CloudWatch) or other cloud platforms

What do we expect after 1–3 months?After 1 month: You’ll understand our CDP foundations, shared repositories, and cloud setup.After 3 months: You’ll be actively contributing to core components, delivering features, and participating in architecture discussions with clear ownership.What will make you happy with us?Impact & growth
