Job DescriptionWe are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to drive the evolution of our Domino-based data platform that supports colleagues in Research and other business functions. In this role, you will own the technical design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and easy to use for data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders.You will collaborate closely with research teams and business partners to understand their requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and lead a small engineering team to deliver enhancements end-to-end.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and deployment of enhancements to the Domino data platform to meet the evolving needs of Research and other business departmentsOwn and refine the platform architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency, particularly on AWSDesign, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest, process, and publish data from multiple internal and external sourcesDefine and implement CI/CD best practices for the platform (infrastructure and application), including automated testing, deployment, and monitoringCollaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize features, and translate use cases into technical solutionsProvide technical leadership and mentorship to the team: code reviews, architecture guidance, and coaching on best practicesEnsure compliance with internal security, governance, and data privacy standards throughout the platform and data lifecycleTroubleshoot complex platform issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes and improvementsContribute to documentation (architecture diagrams, runbooks, standards) and help establish reusable patterns and frameworksStay current with relevant technologies (Domino, AWS, modern data engineering tools, MLOps) and proactively recommend improvementsRequired Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or similar technical rolesHands-on experience with the Domino Data Lab platform or similar data science / MLOps platforms (e.g., Databricks, SageMaker, Vertex AI)Strong hands-on experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., using Python, SQL, Spark, or similar)Solid experience with AWS services relevant to data and platform engineering (e.g., S3, EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS/Redshift, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM)Proven experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar) including automated testing and deploymentDemonstrated experience in leading technical delivery: design decisions, implementation oversight, and coordination across teams (formal people management experience is a plus but not required)Strong software engineering fundamentals: version control (Git), code review practices, testing, and documentationExperience working in an agile or iterative delivery environmentPreferred Skills & KnowledgeExperience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)Familiarity with data modelling, data warehousing, and analytics use casesExposure to security and compliance in a regulated environment (e.g., pharma, healthcare, finance) is an advantageExperience working directly with R&D / Research teams and an understanding of common data science and ML workflowsKnowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirementsPersonal AttributesProactive, ownership-minded, and comfortable leading initiatives end-to-endCollaborative and empathetic, able to work effectively with colleagues from research, business, and ITStructured and detail-oriented, with a focus on reliability, quality, and maintainabilityCurious and eager to learn, with a continuous improvement mindsetOur OfferExciting work in a great team, global projects, international environmentOpportunity to learn and grow professionally within the company globallyHybrid working model, flexible role patternPension and health insurance contributionsInternal reward system plus referral program5 weeks annual leave, 5 sick days, 15 days of certified sick leave paid above statutory requirements annually, 40 paid hours annually for volunteering activities, 12 weeks of parental contributionCafeteria for tax free benefits according to your choice (meal vouchers, Lítačka, sport, culture, health, travel, etc.), Multisport CardVodafone, Raiffeisen Bank, Foodora, and other discount programsUp-to-date laptop and iPhoneParking in the garage for drivers or showers for bikersCompetitive salary, incentive pay, and many moreReady to take up the challenge?
