- Prepare VAT Returns, EC Sales Lists, & other mandatory reports related to VAT,
- Prepare monthly VAT return overviews for Country Controllers to assist with approvals
- Prepare data for submission of VAT payment requests; ensure deadlines for payment are met and highlight large month on month fluctuations in payments or refunds - this includes close working with Payment and Banking team
- Identify areas of incorrect VAT treatment as part of the VAT return process and communicate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams regarding correct booking of documents from VAT perspective
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of VAT Balance sheet accounts and posting of month end clearing journals. Work with country controllers on open items with a view to clearing issues in a timely manner.
- Assist the business with Tax authority queries and audits
- Assist the business with ad hoc requests and internal audits
- Ensure that VAT issues or risks identified are flagged to the Head of VAT in a timely manner, and provide support to resolve
- Assist with updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedure documentation
- Ad-hoc miscellaneous duties and requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Organised, analytical and methodical with strong attention to detail
- The ability to take ownership of their work, demonstrate a problem solving approach and initiate and implement change
- Experience with SAP
