The Software Production (SP) for RHEL organization is looking for a Junior or Software Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. You will be contributing to Red Hat's mission-critical systems aimed at delivering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) offerings to Red Hat customers and partners. You will help us build the next-generation pipeline on our hybrid cloud infrastructure. Being a member of the SP organization is about having a passion for new technologies, and their real-world application and management. Because the team owns a broad collection of tools and services, engineers on our team have the opportunity to experience a number of different programming languages and cutting edge technologies like Openshift (Kubernetes), Tekton, Pipelines-as-Code, AWS and AI.What you will doDesign, develop and maintain software using Agile practicesImprove the tools and processes used to deliver Red Hat solutions to customersUse good test methodologies to ensure that services are robust, reliable, and futuristicParticipate in releasing content to Red Hat customers and partnersAdopt CI/CD methodologies to deploy services and maintain SLIs/SLOsWork in an hybrid cloud environment where your software interacts with bare metal platforms as well as virtualized platforms like Openstack and OpenshiftCollaborate with users and other stakeholders to find solutions to their problemsCollaborate with upstream open source communities on relevant projectsCollaborate with team architects to prototype new solutions quickly and efficientlyHelp incorporate AI tools into processes to improve or enhance current workflowsWhat you will bringSelf-driven Software Engineer with an interest for creative problem-solving, prototyping and experimenting on novelty solutions.Experience with Python programmingExperience with Bash and Linux command line tools and utilitiesExperience with design, development, code reviews and unit testing of bugs and features in a complex and highly evolved code baseFamiliarity with agile methodologyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, as you'll be working in a globally distributed teamThe following will be considered a plus:Experience with Golang language and AWS technologiesExperience with Kubernetes/OpenShift, and any of CI/CD/automation tools as Tekton, ArgoCD/GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins#LI-SH4About Red Hatis the world’s leading provider of enterprise software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
