With more than a century of heritage, Baker Hughes partners with customers in oil and gas, industrial sectors, and emerging energy markets to accelerate progress toward a more sustainable energy future.Fuel your passionThe Process Engineer for Energy Systems plays a key role in the functional integration of all mechanical and process subsystems (cooling, lubrication, sealing, auxiliary systems) into the synchronous condenser package. You will act as the link between mechanical design, electrical integration, and control logic. Your work ensures that the entire system operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.As a Process Engineer for Energy Systems, you will be responsible for:System integration: Defining and managing interfaces between mechanical components (pumps, compressors, coolers) and electrical/control systems. Ensuring compatibility and performance of the entire system.Oversight of auxiliary systems: Specifying and validating auxiliary circuits such as oil systems, water cooling, and ventilation, including their safety and operational parameters.Process design: Creating and optimizing process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for the synchronous condenser and its supporting systems.Design coordination: Working closely with electrical engineers and control system specialists to align mechanical processes with control logic and electrical constraints.Technical risk management: Identifying and mitigating risks related to thermal performance, fluid flow, and mechanical interactions.ITO/OTR support: Providing technical input during the inquiry‑to‑order (ITO) phase and the order‑to‑remittance (OTR) execution phase, especially for system decisions and customer technical clarifications.To be successful in this role, you will:Have strong knowledge of mechanical or process engineering with a systems‑thinking approach.Bring experience with rotating machinery and auxiliary systems (lubrication circuits, sealing systems, cooling).Understand principles of system integration and interface management between subsystems.Be able to read, interpret, and create PFDs, P&IDs, and interface control documents.Understand compliance requirements (TRS, HSE, cyber‑physical interfaces).Collaborate effectively with electrical, controls, and project teams.Work in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and works best in different ways.
