- Drive technical innovation by developing a deep, application-focused understanding of the relationship between molecular structure, processing, and performance-enabling ExxonMobil's Hydrocarbon Fluids products to excel in both established and emerging markets, such as polymerization, metalworking, and metal extraction.
- Partner with cross-functional teams-including commercial, marketing, and R&D-to identify and shape high-value opportunities that advance the Fluids product portfolio and deliver meaningful value to customers.
- Champion the value proposition of ExxonMobil Hydrocarbon Fluids through comprehensive value-in-use assessments that highlight product differentiation and performance in customer environments.
- Establish and maintain trusted technical relationships with strategic and regional customers by offering deep application expertise and co-developing solutions tailored to their operational needs.
- Represent ExxonMobil at key industry conferences with compelling presentations that position Fluids products at the forefront of innovation within the oil and gas sector.
- Act as a key liaison for technical quality feedback-translating customer input into actionable improvements and long-term loyalty.
- Identify and contribute to intellectual property opportunities that align with ExxonMobil's long-term innovation strategy and technology leadership.
- Travel frequency is expected on the role up to 50% per month.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field. Your foundation in organic chemistry gives you a strong edge in understanding how chemical structures translate into real-world performance.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a related field
- Solid understanding of organic and hydrocarbon chemistry, particularly the structure-property relationships essential for product design and performance optimization.
- You're proficient in physical and chemical analytical techniques, with the ability to interpret results that inform product development and problem-solving.
- You're familiar with product stewardship, chemical safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g., REACH registration, classification, and labelling standards).
- You are self-motivated, adaptable, and grounded in a strong sense of integrity, quality, and safety-traits that define how you approach both your work and your collaborations.
- You thrive in multidisciplinary environments, working seamlessly across technical, sales, and marketing teams to align innovation with customer needs.
- You are a confident communicator, capable of building and sustaining meaningful technical partnerships with customers and external stakeholders.
- Internally, you'll collaborate with Market Development, Sales, Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, Legal (IP), Supply Chain, and Marcom to ensure alignment and execution across the value chain.
- Externally, you will interface with strategic customers, third-party labs, and industry associations to co-develop applications that move the energy and manufacturing sectors forward.
