Johnson Controls is searching for a Hardware Sustaining Engineering Lead to be located at the R&D facility in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role you will work with a global team of Hardware engineers supporting our Panels, Detectors and notifications appliances for the Fire Detection business at Johnson Controls. Our fire detection products are installed in buildings you visit every day!This is an opportunity to analyze, design, program, debug, modify, test, and implement Hardware used in Fire Alarm Systems. Our products protect life and property so you will feel gratified with your work.How you will do it:
  • Be a technical leader in our hardware engineering team
  • Interface with customers, tech support, NPI teams and other organizations around the world
  • Grow, Mentor and train others on the latest Hardware and troubleshooting techniques
  • Continuously strive to hone your skill set and lead by example
  • Enhance, Design, prototype, and develop high quality embedded Hardware for fire alarm systems
What we look for:
  • Degree in electrical engineering
  • Experience in embedded Hardware development
  • Knowledge of formal development methodology
  • Proficiency with debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.)
  • Strong communication and communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience in designing low-power analog circuits
  • Knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC converter design
  • Hands-on experience with ARM, Coldfire, or Microchip 16- and 32-bit processors
  • Familiarity with issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Integrity)
